Load shedding continues as power shortfall reaches 27,00MW

The demand of the power supply has reached 13,490 MW and the power generation is 10,790MW bringing the power shortfall to 2700, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) said.The electricity shortfall is causing eight to ten hours loadshedding across the country, Geo News reported.According to PEPCO spokesman, the hydel generation of electricity is 3025 MW, thermal 1758MW, Private Power House to 6000 while that of Rental Power plants were generating 62MW.After a wide gap in demand and supply, the duration of loadsheding has been increased. Urban areas are facing 6-8 hours, while the rural areas are bearing 10-hour loadshedding.
