Interpol to provide two million euros for FIA’s capacity building

Interpol would provide two million Euros for the capacity building of 38 centres of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) across the country besides giving access to the agency to its database.Secretary General of Interpol Ronald K. Noble said this at ajoint press conference wit h Interior Minister Rehman Malik hereThursday.The SG appreciated what he called strong role of Pakistan in global war against terrorism and said Pakistan was among the best countries that were cooperating with Interpol. He said the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in war on terror were eternal and of paramount importance.Noble informed a person had been arrested in connection with alleged terror plot vis a vis Cricket World Cup, 2011, however, he did not give further details about the identity or place of arrest of the accused.Interior Minister gave a list of Most Wanted persons of 2009 to Interpol and called for issuing Blue Notices. The SG said Pakistan had done a great job by providing the list to Interpol.Malik said Pakistan had a pivotal role in war on terror, and was fighting this war for global peace.
