She said media has an important role to play for institutional building and projecting soft image of the country.
She said “at international level there were wrong perceptions about Pakistan, and the government and the media will have to work together to restore soft image of the country.”
Reiterating the PPP government stance that it fully believes in right of freedom of speech Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said access to information was basic right of the media and the government would take all possible steps to facilitate the media.
The minister said despite its best efforts in the past the government could not project its achievements as there was a communication gap between the government and the private media.
